Kandersteg ’24 – July 2023 Newsletter
22nd July 2023
The summer holidays are now upon us, and we’re just over a year away from our trip to Kandersteg! This newsletter provides you with updates and some key upcoming dates...
Payments:
If you’re following the standard payment plan, a £150 payment is due by the end of this month (July 31st). That would take the total amount you should have paid to £550 - therefore, please make any payments required in the next 10 days, ahead of the end of the month.
If you are behind with the payment schedule or have any concerns about the payment schedule, please do get in touch with us. We are more than happy to arrange a personalised payment schedule, but please do engage with us. Chasers are sent to people who are behind on their payment plan, and your place could be at risk if you do not engage with us about this. Please do speak to us in confidence so we can support you.
Personal data:
As the build-up to the trip progresses, we will be requesting more information from you. Please keep an eye out for emails and make sure to action these in good time. It is important we have the information we need so we can ensure you are insured, have a space booked and we are catering for dietary/medical requirements – holding back your data holds back us sorting these things out for everyone on the trip! Also, keeping on top of our requests will help to avoid you being chased by us! With almost 200 people on the trip, please support the volunteers behind the trip – when we email you, we want to hear from you!
FAQs:
We’ve also put together a bank of frequently asked questions, and added this to the website. Please use these as a first check before popping us a question, if you think we’ve already shared the answer. If you can’t find what you need, do still email us
Upcoming Zoom calls:
In order to bring everyone up to speed on the latest information, please join us for the Zoom call listed below:
- Families (young people are welcome too) – 20th September 8.15pm
- We’ll circulate the Zoom link nearer to the time as a reminder, but please do put the date in your diary.
Reminders:
Attendance at the pre-events is really important. It ensures that your young person gets to know us, we can get to know them, and everyone is prepared for the trip. Please make sure they can attend both pre-events (dates below) and let us know ASAP if these cause any issues.
- Pre-event 1 – Hamlet Wood – 7-8th October 2023
- Pre-event 2 – Lower Grange Farm – 3-5th May 2024
- The next payment is due, please see above for more info.
Contacting us over the summer:
During August, you may see a delay when getting in touch with us. Many of us are on other Scouts trips, or taking some well-deserved time off, and we’ll be putting an auto-reply on the inbox when we’re not checking it. You may also notice a delay in payments being added to your registration, as we do this manually when we download payments from the bank – please bear with us and check back at the end of August if you have any questions.
As always, if you have any questions, or need to discuss anything about the trip, please let us know by dropping an email to
