Terms of Hire
- The hirer agrees to abide by the terms of hire, as set out below.
- The equipment is owned and maintained by Malling District Scout Council, known as Malling Scouts. The Hirer agrees to respect the equipment and use this in an appropriate manner, such that all the equipment is returned in a good and working condition.
- The hirer agrees to report any issues, breakages, defects etc upon return of the equipment, or sooner.
- The hirer will pay their hire charge ahead of collecting the equipment.
- In the event of a cancellation of the booking, the hirer will notify Malling Scouts as soon as possible. A refund may or may not be granted, at the discretion of Malling Scouts.
- The hirer agrees to pay for equipment returned damaged at a rate of up to £50 per headset broken, and £70 per transmitter broken. Other damaged equipment replacement costs will be quoted at the time, and this may include postage costs for replacement parts.
- The hirer agrees to re-charge all headphones used before returning, unless otherwise agreed beforehand. Failure to do so may incur a charge
- We do not provide delivery – the equipment must be collected and returned from our district pick up point, in Malling, in a timely manner before/after your event. Collection will be from midday on the first day of hire. The equipment must be returned by midday on the final day of hire.
- Occasionally, some headphones may not be in the hire box while they are under maintenance. If you need all 50 headsets, please let us know at the time of booking.
- Music/DJ is not provided, this is a self-service activity. See compatibility section.
- The hirer will need a power supply for the audio transmitters (approx. up to 4W power draw each) and should run from most portable power stations/inverters.
- It is not permitted at any time for any hirer to sublet equipment. Charges to participants of your event are permissible, but you may not hire onwards the equipment.
- Malling District Scout Council cannot be held liable for any accidents or incidents that occur in connection to the hire. The hirer hereby acknowledges this and agrees to indemnify Malling District Scout Council against all liability in this respect.
