Gold DofE Residential
For the first time, Malling Scouts will be running a Gold DofE Residential at Quest 9.
Who it's for
- 18-24 year olds who are adult volunteers in Scouts
- Anyone from outside of Malling
When you'll be needed
- Arrive: Thursday 29 April 2027, AM @ Downe Activity Centre
- Depart: Monday 3 May 2027, PM
- We may also run a briefing call one evening in the weeks before the event, so you know what to expect.
What you'll get up to
You'll be part of the team who make Quest 9 happen. From helping with the event build on Thursday and Friday, to helping run programme, keep the event safe and secure, and make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible, your role will be varied.
A Gold DofE Residential is just as much fun as it is work. We'll make sure you have a good time, learn new skills and make new friends. You'll have a named Mentor/Assessor, as well as the opportunity to buddy up with members of our event team.

Other key details
We'll charge a small fee (£50) to help cover your food, but everything else will be on us to say thank you. You'll need to bring personal kit, including a tent, and we'll share a kit list nearer to the event.
For the Residential to run, we'll need a minimum of 5 participants, and we'll need to make sure that the crew is made up of people from different locations.
