Payments
As we prepare to open bookings, we're able to share more information about payments, when they're due, and how the fees will be split between the event fee, and catering rebate.
Key details
- Squirrels: £50
- Beavers: £80
- Cubs, Scouts: £120
- Explorers: £130
- Adults: Free
When to pay:
A deposit will be due when you book, with an interim payment deadline, and a deadline for the final balance to be paid. You'll see the balances for each of these within the Booking System, including any add-ons, such as merchandise that you've added.
The deposit payment of £40 is due when you book.
An interim payment of £40 is due for Cubs, Scouts and Explorers by the end of October 2026.
The balance payment is due by the end of February 2027.
Payments can be made at any point once a booking has been made - the above dates are deadlines.
How to pay:
All payments are to be made directly to Malling Scouts, with almost all payments being made through the Booking System. Payments are being processed using Stripe, a commonly used payment gateway, which means that Malling Scouts receives the money, but the only details we store are those you enter into the booking system.
We are also able to accept direct bank transfers from Groups, if financial support is being given to individual participants.
Where your payment goes:
Payments are made to Malling Scouts, and include everything to do with Quest, including your event fee, and your food - we'll then rebate the food money to your Group ahead of the event, keeping it simple for you to pay in one place.
The split of payments is as follows:
- Squirrels: £40 event fee, £10 to Group
- Beavers: £60 event fee, £20 to Group
- Cubs, Scouts: £90 event fee, £30 to Group
- Explorers: £90 event fee, £40 to Explorers
Financial support
Family finances should never be a barrier to taking part in Scouts. If the event fee is a concern, please speak to your Section Team, or Group Lead Volunteer in confidence about options - many Groups in Malling have support available, and we also have the Charlie Girling Bursary Fund which can be used to part or fully fund event places.
