March 2023 Update

Hi all,

After the mad rush of sign ups following the information evening in January, we wanted to provide you with an update to keep you in the loop on trip progress with the first of our regular updates...

Payment schedule:
This is the bad news... the next instalment for the trip is due at the end of March (£150) - more information on the payment plan can be found here. Whilst this is the standard payment plan, please do engage with us if you wish to tailor the plan to your individual circumstances... others have, so don't be concerned that you will be the only one.

Our preference is for payments to be made by BACS, this will require your unique reference. We will be sharing these shortly, but some will already have these. This is to avoid the Stripe payment form that some used previously as this incurred processing fees. If you would prefer to use the Stripe form, please let us know.

Funding:
We are exploring funding options to make the trip accessible to all. If you have concerns about the overall trip cost, please do engage with us so we can get an idea of the current situation across the contingent.

Trip overview:
This is the more exciting part....

• The trip contingent is made up of 195 people!
• We have representation from every Group and Explorer Unit in the District! Some of you are currently Cubs, right through to some who have been in Explorers for a while.
• Kandersteg is booked! we will share more information about the site nearer the time
• The Trip Leadership Team are busy working on plans ranging from how we will get you all there, and kit we will provide you with, through to the pre-events, programme and welfare support. We will share more updates in due course
• We will be sharing plans for engaging young people in the planning process- keep your eyes peeled for more info soon
• We are looking to provide additional support to some of the youngest members of the contingent and will be sharing more information about this shortly.

• Pre-event 1 - Hamlet Wood 7-8^th October 2023
• Pre-event 2 - Lower Grange Farm - 3-5^th May 2024
